Greetings Sorors, Supporters and Friends,

I bring you salutations on behalf of the Syracuse Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc is an international public service organization founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 visionary collegiates on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC.

Our local chapter, the Syracuse Alumnae Chapter (SAC), was chartered on March 17, 1972, by sixteen trailblazing women and continues the legacy of our Founders. SAC has continuously impacted the Syracuse community since its inception: with a major focus on Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service and Social Action.

Annually, we award scholarships in excess of $10,000 to college bound high school seniors in our service area. Additionally, each year, we present programming based on the Sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical & Mental Health, and Political Awareness & Involvement. We are, indeed, Sisters Advocating Change.

Whether you are a member of our glorious sisterhood, a member of the community, or a local business, we look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events and exploring collaborative opportunities to help change the trajectory of local residents as we continue to make our community an excellent place to live, work, serve and engage.

Thank you for visiting our website; we look forward to connecting soon.

Sincerely,

Daphene D. Johnson, President
Syracuse Alumnae Chapter
